Come ogni anno, la squadra di basket del paese consegna le nuove divise ai suoi piccoli giocatori. E con la nuova divisa arriva anche il nuovo numero. Questa volta a Faccio-io è capitato il 33, un numero famoso.
All’uscita dello spogliatoio è cupo. Gli chiedo se è contento di aver ricevuto proprio questo numero e lui mi guarda storto.

È stato molto facile fargli cambiare umore e infatti adesso trotterella sorridente verso l’auto.
E, a ben vedere, se gli fosse capitato un 32 (Magic Johnson) o un 34 (Shaquille O’Neill) me la sarei comunque cavata!

Sì, Jordan aveva il 23. Ma sai, era di un’altra parrocchia, dei Chicago Bulls. È vero che ho citato i Celtics, ma d’altronde mio marito ha un debole per loro, quindi per par condicio ho tirato in ballo Larry Bird. Tutti gli altri giocatori, però, sono rigorosamente Lakers e infatti – buon sangue non mente – Faccio-io è tifoso dei Lakers. Anche se quest’anno ha cominciato a prendere in simpatia i Phoenix Suns… cosa che mi creerebbe qualche problema, non tanto per una questione di tifo – ci mancherebbe-, ma per reperire eventuali magliette e gadget 🙈😅

I did not remember Kareem’s number. I remember him more from the Milwaukee Bucks, when Wilt the Stilt played for the Lakers. I haven’t followed basketball as much in recent years. More of a baseball fan. 🙂

I’ve never understood why the American game is called “football.” I always have to stop and realize that what Europe calls “football,” we call “soccer.” But in the game we call “football,” the foot rarely touches the ball. Hahaha!

It’s true, you’re right, our game is called “soccer”. I should have checked the translation better!🙈😅 Although the literal translation would be “kick”. What is being kicked is not specified. In fact sometimes it’s the ball, sometimes (often) it’s the opponent… 😂
